What is high ticket affiliate marketing? High ticket affiliate marketing is the same as normal affiliate marketing except the item/s for sale are much more expensive. Selling a high ticket item means a much larger commission is made by the affiliate than for the average affiliate products you might choose to sell.
For example, a normal digital product might sell for $100. The affiliate earns $40 on the sale. (Digital products pay out 40% commissions – much more than physical products do). In this example, in order to earn monthly commissions of $2000, the affiliate will need to sell 50 of these items a month.
With high ticket affiliate products, you could sell a digital product, such as a training course, for $1000. In this case given a similar commission percentage of 40%, you’ll earn $400. In order to earn the same monthly commission you’d need to sell 5 of these products a month which will give you $2000 in total, in commissions.
So, as you can see there’s a lot less selling to do in order to make the same commissions.
What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing?
So it seems obvious then that everyone should use high ticket products to make more from their online efforts, right? High ticket products do allow you to make more from a smaller amount of sales. But what about the cost to the customer? Surely a more expensive product is harder to sell? I made this assumption when I started looking into high ticket items to sell online.
What I didn’t understand then though was that selling anything online takes the same, or a similar amount of effort.
With a high ticket product you can make ten times the amount from the sale of a low valued product. It definitely doesn’t take ten times the effort to sell a high ticket product. Simply direct your marketing towards people who want and value the product you are promoting. If someone is looking for a product on the internet to buy, they still want that product regardless of how expensive it is. Why target smaller valued items when the high ticket items sell just as easily!?

Another consideration when choosing to promote high ticket affiliate marketing products are subscriptions. Making the decision to use subscription products within your high ticket sales funnel can be a complete game changer when it comes to making a profit online.
Subscriptions allow you, as an affiliate, to keep earning month after month from repeat custom. Even if your subscription payment is only $20, for example, with 100 membership sales you will be earning $2000 a month for previous sales you have made!
Subscriptions should therefore form part of your sales funnel and product range. They can make a huge difference in making an online business more sustainable and viable for the long term.

With a built in sales team, you don’t have to be a salesman to promote high ticket affiliate products. All you need to do is promote the initial referral to a product range which offers high ticket affiliate products. Up-selling is the process of selling further products to existing customers. Affiliate marketing should have up-selling too because it allows you to benefit from further sales made to your referrals. Most affiliate products don’t offer this opportunity. Once you’ve made your first referral sale, you need to continue finding new customers. This is a little wasteful!
