High Ticket Affiliate Marketing

High ticket affiliate marketing was a total game changer for me. I started learning about affiliate marketing around 2010 but it wasn’t until I found high ticket affiliate marketing that things really took a turn for the better. Until then, I was building websites trying to sell low value items through various free marketing strategies. It was a frustrating experience building website after website and never seeing anything for all the effort.

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – Why High Ticket?

I was following a number of strategies which I had learned through various online training programs. (See my article on Digital Profit Course Review.)

At first I was attempting to use Google and get free traffic. This strategy was flawed for a couple of reasons:

  1. I didn’t know just how much hard work was involved in this process
  2. Nor did I know the best strategies
  3. Also, I didn’t know how long it would take, using this strategy

So a lot of my struggle came down to just one thing: lack of knowledge. In hindsight, getting the right education upfront would have save me a lot of time and wasted effort.

The products I was promoting too, weren’t the best ones I could have chosen. Again, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. High ticket affiliate marketing is a game changer because it both allows a larger commission when you make a sale, but it also lets you more easily use paid marketing strategies. Without a large commission and with only low ticket items, it’s much more difficult to gain traction and use pay per click, for example – a faster traffic generation strategy which is also scalable. Any paid strategy in fact can be scaled up and automated.

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – More Difficult?

Many people have the misconception that high ticket affiliate marketing is going to be much more difficult than selling low value affiliate products. I was the same. I figured that you could sell far more items at say $100, than you could at $1000. After all, more people could afford the lower priced item right? But what I didn’t understand is that it takes a similar amount of effort to do both.

In fact, only a small amount of my website visitors even bought a product at all. If that sale was $100 or $1000, it’s much better if it’s $1000. If for each sale you make 40% commission (on a digital product), the higher valued items gives you a much better return. The key is targeting the right audience. If you target people who can only afford $100 product, that’s what you’ll get. But the same effort is required to target people who would rather choose a more valuable item.

You would need to sell 10 $100 products to make the same money, as an affiliate, as a single high ticket item at $1000. It certainly doesn’t take ten times more work to sell the high ticket item.

Subscription Affiliate Marketing

Subscription affiliate marketing is also a game changer. If you’re not taking advantage of subscription affiliate programs, you really should. Subscriptions again, were a game changer for me. With a subscription affiliate product you not only make a commission for the initial sale, but you also earn an ongoing commission every month from those sales.

Providing your products offer real value, and your membership continue, you can potentially earn a lifetime income from just a few subscriptions. If every subscription/ membership sale makes you just $20 a month, you only need 100 of these sales to make $2000 a month, every month, potentially for a lifetime.

Use subscription products!

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – Business Setup

Ideally your high ticket affiliate marketing products will have the following setup:

  • High ticket products you can maximise your commissions on
  • Digital products for ease of delivery, scalability and to maximise commissions.
  • Up-sells – a range of products within your high ticket sales funnel.
  • Multi-tier sales commissions – earn from your team/referrals’ sales
  • Subscription products – Ongoing commissions from previous sales
  • An in-house sales team closing sales on your behalf.

The average sales funnel pays out around $1 per subscriber per month. With a giant email list, you can grow this to any potential income, once you get it right. With a high ticket sales funnel like the one descried above, you can expect to earn $5 per subscriber per month, on average. This has much more potential to bring you a positive return on investment than for lower value affiliate products.

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – Growing And Scaling

Growing and scaling your affiliate business will take some time. At first you need to set up your high ticket sales funnel with email series, landing pages and affiliate products. Learn more here.

Once everything is set up, you need to turn your attention to marketing strategies. Whichever marketing strategy you pick, you need to stick at for long enough to start seeing results. This will be far faster, and more effective with paid marketing strategies. Even with paid strategies, it’s entirely possible to get it wrong. You need to keep at it until you find a strategy which coverts leads into sales through your marketing funnel.

Once you find a good strategy which works, you can create many more. The benefit of having an automated sales funnel is the ability to scale up to a global audience and keep scaling.

Types Of Digital Marketing

There are various types of digital marketing. According to your situation and preferences one may be more suitable than another. If you’ve got a lot of time, but less income, free marketing strategies might be your direction. If, on the other hand you have a busy lifestyle and not time, you might opt to use paid marketing strategies instead.

Paid Strategies

Paid strategies include things like Facebook, Adwords (Google) pay per click, YouTube marketing, Bing, Yahoo and other social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn etc. With paid strategies, you start with a small monthly budget and run adverts to send targeted traffic into your sales funnel. From there, you can learn which strategies are working and which are failing. Over time, and if you stick at this long enough to generate some data, you’ll learn how to get the most out of this kind of marketing strategy.

Most people attempt to do this and give up far too early. They run a single advert and it doesn’t work. instead of trying to figure out what does work, they just quit. This is a mistake because once you do figure it out, you’ve got an automated income strategy which can be scaled and built upon.

‘Free’ Strategies

Free digital marketing strategies come at a different cost – ‘time’. Free marketing strategies are suitable for you if you have the time and inclination to do them again and again to discover which strategy works. Once you have learned what works and what doesn’t work, you can zero-in on those uses of your time which generate the largest results in terms of sales.

Free strategies include things like blogging, video marketing, article marketing social media marketing and the various strategies for link building and generating traffic back to your content. One of the simplest and most popular strategies is blogging. Blogging is time consuming and results will come very slowly depending on which business sector or ‘niche’ you decide to build your online business in. Video creation is another popular strategy which affiliate marketers use to generate traffic to their sales funnels.
