Why? There’s a few reasons why high ticket digital products are the best:

1. Digital products pay out the largest percentage of a sale for affiliate marketers. Most digital products pay 40% commissions on a product sale. Compare this to their physical product counterparts which only pay between 3% and 11% commissions in most cases.
2. High ticket digital products have a larger price tag. Therefore you will receive a larger commission per sale. Not only do you get a large percentage of the sale, but the sale price means you get a large commission on each sale you make.
3. You don’t need to sell as many high ticket items as you would smaller items in order to make the same amount. You can sell one product for $1000 or 100 at $10 each. Which do you think is easier? You can work smarter not harder.
4. High ticket items give you more choice in your marketing methods. With low value items you’ve got your work cut out. You’ll need to get free traffic or be an incredibly good marketer to get your advertising costs down low enough to sell items for $10 each and still make a profit!

It’s not really even viable to sell some low value products using paid marketing with such low profit margins. With a high ticket item, you can afford to test and measure your advertising and even make a few mistakes, too, while you learn.

There’s a few reasons why you should choose not only high ticket digital products, but also a product range. Not all the highest paying affiliate products offer the benefits of a range. With a product range, you can benefit from the lifetime value of a customer. Even if you only sell the entry level product in a range, you’ll earn commissions should your customer upgrade their membership at any time; even if its years later.

Physical products can pay out large commissions too. Take for example the company Hammacher Schlemmer who sells items such as hovercrafts for $58,000! As an affiliate you can earn 8% commissions on a sale. On a small item that doesn’t amount to much. But on a $58,000 hovercraft you can earn $4,640 in a single sale! However, once you’ve sold one item it’s back to the drawing board. You need to keep selling items over and over to keep making money. How many people really want a $58,000 hovercraft and can afford it!?

With a product range you can sell digital products which brings in a recurring income. Even with a smaller recurring income per sale, over time this can add up to generate a nice passive income. Digital Vs. Physical

Of course people still buy physical products but there’s more logistical problems selling physical products for affiliate marketers. With a physical product, the commission level is typically much lower because there’s shipping costs, manufacturing and handling costs involved. A physical product incurs more costs and is harder to obtain than digital products. With a digital product anyone with a laptop and internet connection can be a customer.

This sets up a much wider perimeter for your business. You have a larger audience with digital products and especially if you choose something globally appealing. Compare, for example, how many people need an income and are looking for job alternatives with those looking for a golf cart hovercraft! It’s a much larger pool of the population! Of course there’s also the pandemic of 2020 too which has changed the economy completely. Now more than ever people are looking to the internet as a means to earn an income.

High ticket digital products offer a solution to a lot of people’s problems. Golf cart hovercrafts much less so! Amazon is a popular physical product emporium for affiliate marketers too. But Amazon typically pays between 3% and 11% commissions on sales their affiliates make. On smaller items this amounts to very little and it’s much more difficult to build a viable business from this kind of model than with high ticket digital products.

Clickbank is typically the place where new affiliates will look for products too. But Clickbank doesn’t offer high ticket commissions on most of its products. Search the marketplace using the “price down” tab.

You can market a sales funnel in a number of ways according to your own circumstance and marketing budget. There’s two main ways to market a sales funnel:

2. Free/organic marketing

Paid marketing is much faster and you can scale up to a larger audience much more quickly. Content marketing or the organic route typically takes much longer and more effort.

One of the main advantages of choosing a high ticket product is that you can more easily sell using paid marketing. Free marketing strategies are notoriously slow and difficult. Paid marketing on the other hand can work much faster and is much more scalable.

At first you’ll be experimenting with your adverts but over time, if you keep going you’ll start making sales. When this happens it’s a glorious experience, especially if your sales funnel has a range of products including recurring income products.

As your numbers reflect a profitable business, you can slowly start to increase your advertising budget and reach a greater number of people with your products.

So how did I manage to sell these high ticket items? Well I really only sold the initial product in the list above through an automated sales funnel. After that, the sales system and a built in sales team closed the sale on the high ticket items on my behalf.

This is the secret to make high ticket sales online; use a system which includes a built in sales team and automation. Then run your marketing campaign and drive targeted people into it – showing them products which they really, really want or need.

How To Sell High Ticket Items

To sell anything requires you to find customers who have a need for your service. Without value, products would never sell. So you need to lead the right people into your sales system and let the selling be done for you automatically. This is basically what a high ticket sales funnel can do for you.

But with the best products in the world, you can still struggle to make those pesky high ticket sales. You need to focus first on your customer. With the world at your fingertips through your advertising platforms, you can literally advertise to anyone on the internet. The key is to find those people who not only like what you have, but desperately need it.

To understand this you need to look at what problem your particular high ticket product solves for your customer. The SFM digital business system I recommend solves many problems for customers. In Simon Sinek’s book Start With Why, he discusses how those with less means and resources can achieve far more than those with it. It all depends on their “why”. When someone purchases the top level product in an online business, for example, it’s for a reason. The best reason I can fathom is pain! People who are happy with their “lot” in life simply won’t purchase product they don’t need.

The same could be true of many high ticket products you might want to purchase. Most good sales people know their customers “why” and hit their pain point. They then deliver a product which gives them what they want; whether that is more freedom (as with the SFM product), or more kudos as with a large value home, or vehicle for example.

Customer “Avatar”

A customer avatar is where many online marketers start with a view to make a sale. The clearer you can get on who your ideal customer is, the better targeted your advertising will be.

Your “ideal” customer will of course be the least hassle and stress and give you the highest commissions. They will go “all in” not because you’re an amazing sales person and “close the deal” but because they are perfectly in alignment with what you have to offer.

Conversely, most low value affiliate products won’t let you do this which means your marketing needs to be cheap or free.
